Data practices for Metric Scope
Last updated: October 14, 2026. Website: metricscope.cfd. Product: Metric Scope — Open Site Digest.
What we collect
Metric Scope reads information from the active browser tab when you interact with the extension:
- Page address and registrable domain.
- Structured SEO signals from the DOM (meta tags, headings, link counts).
- Aggregated network metrics (request count, bytes, resource types).
- Domain string for optional Similarweb estimates.
- Locally stored cache timestamps and a rolling recent-domain list.
No registration is required; we do not ask for legal name or email in the extension UI.
Why we process it
Processing supports the single purpose shown in the store listing: scoped digest of host metrics, SEO snapshot, and load outline. We do not use this data for unrelated marketing.
Where it lives
Primary storage is your Chrome profile (chrome.storage.local). Cached Similarweb JSON is refreshed on a short TTL. Uninstalling removes extension-controlled storage.
Who receives data
Similarweb (domain query). Optional CDN for country flags. We do not sell user data. Legal requests may require limited disclosure.
Chrome permissions
storage, webRequest, activeTab, tabs, scripting, and broad host access are used solely to display metrics for pages you choose to analyze—not to modify unrelated sites silently.
Controls & rights
Disable or remove the extension at any time. Clear storage via Chrome. Questions: [email protected].
Minors
Metric Scope is not aimed at children.
Global users
You may use the extension internationally; vendor servers may differ from your location.
